Fun paddle event to raise funds for cancer charities

A charity fundraiser will see novice crews paddle against each other next month to raise funds for cancer charities in Paphos.

There are still a couple of vacancies for crew members and training sessions are currently underway, said Maxine O’Daly of the ‘Breast of Friends’, a cancer support group and one of the charities due to benefit from funds raised.

2021 opening planned for Neo Chorio theme park

Greens say planning permit would never have been issued under current legislation

A large-scale theme park, ‘Mythos’, is planned for Neo Chorio in Paphos and should open to the public in 2021, according to the project’s investors from Cyprus and Hong Kong.

Dentists still out of Gesy

DENTISTS’ participation in the National Health Scheme (Gesy) is still up in the air, their association said on Thursday.

In a statement, the association said their understanding is that in any case dentists, if they were to join Gesy, would do so during the second phase of the scheme, starting July 2020.

Man charged with spate of break-ins

A Greek Cypriot man from Trachoni will appear in the Sovereign Base Area Court in Episkopi on November 25 after being charged with four counts of breaking into buildings.

Three of the charges relate to incidents earlier this month and the other is a historical case from last year relating to a break-in at a nursery school in the village.
