The Polis Coast In August
Accessible
There is a handy ramp on this beach, for people with mobility issues to get into and out of the water. This is a really good idea and needs to be encouraged. I remember over 10 years ago when Alex, my wife, had badly broken her leg. I pushed her around in a wheelchair, and tried to take her swimming. It was not easy. She had this big waterproof sock to protect the leg. Getting in wasn't an issue. But getting out again was really tricky. Something like this would have been superb.
Sunbeds Galore
There are a lot of sunbeds on the shore by the restaurant. Way more than 50%, which is the official limit. However, when you take into account the entire bay which runs all the way up to the Anassa Hotel, there is plenty of unmolested beach along the way for you to plonk your own towel or umbrella.
Another Restaurant
Don't take my word for it though. Let's move further down. You soon arrive at Yiannakis Beach Restaurant, which is next to the Aphrodite Beach Hotel. There is a lot more free beach available here, though you will have to find a spot amongst all the other umbrellas and awnings.
Handy Parking
There are about three places to park your car with easy access to the beach. On the left here you can see a restaurant. If you have lots of stuff to unload and it is busy, I would recommend driving down to the lowest level to unload then going back up to the top area, where you are less likely to get blocked in.
Eye Level
I didn't just fly the drone to take pictures on this visit. We stopped here to go for a walk.
