Fox Junction

You won't be on tarmac for long though. Look out for this junction on your right. It is easy to miss it so pay attention.

If you want a bit of a diversion, you can continue up this road until you come to the church of Agios Nikolaos. There are some fantastic old murals there, though you might want to bring a torch.

More Bumps

The track leads back down to the river. Again there are numerous routes you can take. We went to the right here.

You will soon drive past a fenced off area on your left. There are a few dogs here that will usually make their presence known. Just keep the fence to your left and drive up out of the river. Note though, that there is now water in the river.

Dodgy Crossing

The track now goes over a tributary. You can't tell that from this picture, but during the winter a river runs here from left to right, joining the Xeros.

Another River Crossing

After the tributary you will come across another water mill, which is worth investigating if you have the time. We gave a full report on it in our article on Xeros River Ruins. If you do decide to visit, watch out for the owl!
