What Is Happening To Polis Campsite?
Polis Campsite Beach

The beach itself looks as lovely as ever, albeit without any sunbeds.

Shame

The beach bar was a lovely laid-back affair. The whole beach and campsite was, to be honest. I fell in love with it the first time I visited. The Eucalyptus trees added an air of tranquility to an already idyllic scene. It was the perfect place to relax.

It certainly deserves a better fate than this. Let's hope the refurbishment can produce a modern eating and drinking experience which retains the charm of the original.
No More Showers

Now, the beach should be a priority for the Municipality. It currently has Blue Flag status, which is a big draw for tourists, but for how much longer? One of the requirements for the award is decent facilities. At the moment, there are none. These used to be the showers, but the shower heads have been removed and the water supply itself is cut off.
Sleepy Sands

The beach itself though is still as lovely as ever.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
