Travelling In These Days Of COVID
Last week my wife and daughter took a short break in Paris, to soak up the culture and take in some galleries. Alex has written this report so you have a first-hand account of what to expect when you travel to and from Cyprus.
Paphos From Above

IN THESE DAYS OF Covid-19 any type of international travel requires a lot of planning, and worrying, to ensure you have completed all the documents, tests and online forms needed. Recently I, Alex, and our daughter went to Paris for a 5 day visit to the various art galleries. A trip we had been looking forward to for several months, hopefully this account will help any of you planning a trip from Cyprus.
Please bear in mind all the rules and regulations change frequently so do check on the relevant government websites for the prevailing rules for your dates of travel.

Also bear in mind that most of my article is text. I have broken it up and added some pictures we took along the way, but the pictures won't necessarily match the text. The title above each picture relates to the picture, not the text.

We are permanent Cyprus residents with United Kingdom passports and were travelling to Paris, France. I have had 3 vaccine doses and our daughter has had 2.

I visited both the EU and the French government sites for information on travel requirements. As residents of an EU country travelling to France and both fully vaccinated NO Covid test was required, however, we decided to have a rapid antigen test 24 hours before flying for safety’s sake. We had this done in Paphos on the Sunday and received a text of our negative results a few hours later. France requires a passenger locator form to be completed online EU Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF)) and a declaration that you have not been in contact with a Covid case in the last 7 days, on paper. The PLF was uploaded to Ryan Air the day before travel and downloaded to my mobile phone.
The Metro

When we arrived at Paphos airport it was very quiet, and we quickly moved through the gates, security and passport control. I had our yellow slips with us, and the passports were NOT stamped on leaving. The flight itself was half full so there were lots of empty seats and we had a row of 3 to ourselves. The staff were amazing, and the flight went without incident.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
