The Abandoned Bowling Alley On Bar Street
There used to be a bowling alley in Kato Paphos, on Bar Street no less. Whether it was usurped by Cosmic Bowling up near the Mall, I don't know. But for whatever reason, Cockatoo Bowling Club closed its doors several years ago. Recently however, I managed to find a way in, so I thought I would show you what it is like inside.
Notorious Destination

Bar Street has had mixed fortunes over the years. The central area has always been popular, and places like Flairs and Boogies still thrive. You will find them to the left of this picture. In today's journery though, we are going right to the area in need of TLC.
She Was Only The Zookeeper's Daughter...

On the left we have Cockatoo's Bowling Centre. On the right lie the husks that were Linekar's and a number of other clubs. Will they be renovated soon? I don't know. The hoardings went up some time ago but nothing has happened since then.
Houston, We Have Contact

I had noticed when filming here recently that the door in front of the old club was now open. So I returned with a camera more suitable to low light and went inside. The pictures you see in this article are all stills from the film, which will be published tomorrow.
Inner Bar

On entering through the door I found myself standing in an old bar.
Music Theme

There was nothing here to suggest it was part of a bowling alley.

However, this is a lovely place if you like urban exploring, and I felt that if I cut down the picture count I couldn't do it justice. I appreciate that it might not be for everybody though, so the first page contains spoiler photos of what to expect. If you find them interesting, then continue to the main blog!
Pantheon Hall - Part 1
We've always loved urban exploring - visiting abandoned old buildings - and Cyprus has more than its fair share, from old hotels to forgotten hospitals for disused mines. When we discovered the place we are about to show you though, we really hit the Urbex Jackpot. This place is amazing, and has a remarkably colourful past as well.Good Pages To Visit

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
