Postcard From Ayia Napa
More Rugged Terrain

Ayia Napa, Protaras, Cape Greco and the Exclusion Zone are all very close to each other. It took us a while to work that out, but once you get your bearings it makes exploring a lot easier. Here we are back in rugged terrain, looking for a bridge.

Distant Pirate Ship

In the distance, you can see the tip of Cape Greco (unless my memory is wonky). You cannot actually reach the tip by car or foot, as it is fenced off. I think there is a military base there. However, if you drive up the gate you can park and have a look around the rocks, and on the way back you can take a left turn to the area popular with divers I mentioned earlier. From there you can park up and walk to the Canyon. You can even continue around to the Sea Caves. Take plenty of water though.
Mind The Boat

Some places are clearly best explored by boat. He had a friend who was snorkelling in the water just out of shot, and who can blame her? The water here and in the whole of Ayia Napa was crystal clear, and the lack of any surf meant that snorkelling conditions were ideal.
Not a Venetian Bridge

This bridge is a beauty spot, and understandably it is fenced off to protect it. We still saw one idiot walking across it though.
Popular With Cruises Too!

I think a tour of the area in one of these boats would be a nice way to spend an afternoon. They weren't blaring out music all the time and the tour guide seemed to be providing useful information.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
