Paphos International Street Festival Is Coming Soon!
Promenade Kiosk

The next one is a bit of a puzzle. It is labelled as the Promenade Kiosk. The only kiosk I know is the one shown in this photograph. However, the official map points to a location around the bottom right of the picture. So if you turn up at the kiosk and you can see a fire-eater 200 metres away from you, head that way!

Archaeological Park

When they have cultural events at the Archaeological Park it is normally in the area directly in front of it. It would be pretty cool if it was held at the Outdoor Theatre within the park, but I imagine it will follow the usual pattern and be on the front steps by the main entrance.
Paphos Castle

The Opera is due to be performed here in September. It will be interesting to see if the seating is already in place in time for the Street Festival. The chairs are currently lurking behind the Restaurant area.
Caffe Nero Dioikitiria

Moving away from the Sea Front we have the Caffe Nero in Old Town. You can see the lifts to the carpark on the bottom right of the picture.
Kennedy Square

The final location is Kennedy Square itself. If you are headed here, I recommend parking in the main Old Town Car Park and walking through. There is reduced capacity at Kennedy Square Car Park due to the ongoing renovations. Please note that this picture was taken in Easter, when the Easter Decorations were up. You won't see any large chickens or eggs if you visit today.
So, with 14 acts spread over 7 locations, the last week in August promises to be very entertaining. We will of course bring you reports of the actual activities when they occur. Do make an effort to see them. If they prove popular who knows what it will inspire the authorities to do next?
And remember, for full and up-to-date information on all the acts and the show timings etc, consult the Paphos Street Festival website.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
