Panagia Hills
Square Rocks
This is a close-up of one of the funny rocks I mentioned. It looks like a huge cube, and there is another one just behind it.
The Cubist Movement
These cubes seem to have originated from this rock face.
Familiar Formations
Eventually we ran out of arrows to follow, and took a number of wrong turns. Having to reverse out of a vineyard can be fun. After a while though, we ran out of options, and came to a dead end. The rocks here reminded me of the ones we saw above the village of Foinikas, in the Xeros Valley.
I wanted to get some decent shots while I was here, so I left the car and fought my way through some rather prickly undergrowth. When it gets a bit cooler and I can wear long trousers again, this sort of journey will be a lot more comfortable.
Distant Vretsia
I loved being up here though. I remember looking up from Vretsia on numerous occasions and wondering about the strange cliffs I could see in the far distance. Now I was on top of them. The next few pictures speak for themselves.
