Moundiko Nature Trail - Part 1
Bird's Eye View

Now would be the perfect opportunity to show you the drone footage I took on the first visit. Here you can see the farm we just passed. beyond that you can see where the road winds its way up the hill in the centre of the picture.
Above Snake Canyon

Slightly to the left, you can see the upper part of Snake Canyon and that large expanse of erosion.
To The Right

Whereas to the right, it all looks like wilderness. But in actual fact, Kathikas and the main road are in that direction.
White River Gorge

This is to the left of our trail, if we are facing towards the sea. We explored the area on the other side of the gorge a few months ago. You can just about make out the funny wall there. You can see the latter part of this nature trail on the right. We will be there towards the end of Part 2.
Beginning and End

This shot looks across Moundiko Plateau towards Avakas Gorge and Lara Bay. you can see the two tracks I mentioned previously.

Erosion
A few weeks ago, I read reports that some ancient human remains had turned up in a remote church near Kathikas. I presume the remains were placed by a tomb robber, but to be honest, the key phrase that stuck in my head was "remote church". After several attempts, the route to the location was found, and we paid it a visit.Good Pages To Visit

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
