Kato Paphos Part 7 - The Coast Path
Beach Bar

The new beach bar is, I think, closed for Winter now. However, I am happy to report that it did indeed survive the first bit of rough weather we had.

Harbour Vista

I saw a picture of it at night recently, and it is really pretty. I shall have to try and capture that scene for a future blog, possibly when I do my annual report on the Christmas Lights.
SODAP Beach

This is the first of FOUR blue flag beaches between here and the main sea front. It's official name is Vrysoudia A, though I think most people call it the SODAP beach.
In case you were wondering, SODAP stands for Synergatikos Organismos Diathesis Ambelourgikon Proionton. It is the Cooperative Organization for the Distribution of Viticultural Products. It is basically a cooperative of wine growers. From what I can gather they also own land, including this area. If somebody knows more about SODAP I would be interested to find out. I was able to add a whole chunk of information to the St Pauls section of this series when a reader supplied me with more data, So please, if you know anything, don't be shy. It is all welcome.
Amavi Hotel

We are now walking along the coast path back towards the Sea Front. To our right is the Amavi Hotel. This is unusual in Paphos in that it caters for Adult Couples. Perfect if you want to get away without the kids in tow.
Empty Beach

I think the new cafe blends in nicely with the beach, and is a positive enhancement to the area.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
