Dam Fine View

You can't tell from a close-up shot like this, but from a distance the dams really blend in with the surrounding countryside.

Overflow

The water situation in Cyprus, and especially Paphos, is getting a bit worrying. I highlight Paphos because our sole desalination plant recently burnt to the ground. There are plans for another, and to repair this one, but what we really need is a lot of rain.

Meanwhile, Nearby...

Anyway, I have already talked about reservoir water levels in the recent past, and not a lot has changed since then, so let us move on to other topics. There is a Garden Centre near the reservoir. I remember it because when the reservoir was last full a few years ago, this place was flooded.

Mini Reservoir

It even appears to have its own little reservoir. There is a big sign down there too. I wonder what it is saying. I feel the need to investigate further, but that will have to wait for another day. I looked on Google Street View, and there was a picture we added back in 2020 which identified the Garden Centre as Loukas Plantations. But I couldn't find any further information.

Kannaviou Overflow

This is where the Kannaviou overflows. You can't really see it if you visit the reservoir on foot. I remember when I was reporting on the overflowing reservoirs a few years ago, that the best place is the Asprokremmos. Ok, it overflows less than the smaller reservoirs, but you can stand directly above the overflow and also buy Loukoumades at the hastily erected food stalls.
