Fishermen's Shame
The other day we popped down to see what Evretou looked like now that the reservoir water levels had receeded. We couldn't believe the mess we found when we got there...
From A Distance
From a distance the Evretou Reservoir looks beautiful. And it is. You can see a white line where the water meets land. this shows how much the water has receeded from when it was full. This time last year it was a LOT emptier than that!
To get to Evretou, you have to approach from the direction of Scarfos Bridge. It is a pleasant drive which only gets challenging after rain.
The Road To Evretou
However, as you approach the abandoned village, the beauty develops quite a lot of cracks.
This was under water not that long ago, so this crap is recent.
Old Mosque
The village itself is still great fun to explore. You can see how far the water came up the walls of the mosque.
Rubbish Everywhere
But everywhere you look, you can see recent bags of rubbish.
