The entrance to the hideaway is locked, so you can't get in. I remember that the door was very low. You would pretty much have to crawl to get into it.
Green And Pleasant Land
Here's one more view from the past. Look how green it all is! It will look like this again in a few short weeks. Lovely.
Distant Cliff
The photos in this blog were taken over two days. On day one I was flying over this area. I had seen the cliff in the distance when I visited the area on foot a few years ago, and wanted to get a closer look.
A Closer Look
See how remote the area is? Aside from a bit of cultivated land on the right, the rest of this scene is totally wild. There are no tracks or anything. This is why fires in remote areas like this are notoriously difficult to put out.

So, on the first day I flew my drone around here to take some pictures. But as I did so, I noticed something near the cliffs.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
