The Camel Trail Venetian Bridges
This puddle was a lot muddier than I expected. I was wearing wellington boots but even so I had to walk to the side because the mud was too deep in the middle. There is a MUCH easier way of getting to the bridge than this, from where I parked my car, so make sure you read all the blog before dashing off to your 4x4.
I could see that no vehicle had been up this road since the rain.
I could also see why no traffic had come from the other direction either. I have no idea how deep all that mud is and I certainly wouldn't want to try driving through it.
This is one of our favourite places. We were on that swing in the summer time and it was good fun. You should only go on it if you are prepared to get dunked though.
A few years ago we met some men at the bridge itself, who said they went swimming in a pool just downstream every year on a certain date. It was probably at this point. Normally, the river is much emptier than its current level, and this bit has one of the few deep points. You could certainly have a good splash in the summer time.
