Baracas Sea Front
Looks Nice
There weren't many people around when I walked through. I visited the area on the 6th, which is just after the main holiday rush. Plus it was around about lunch time.
Mystery Junction
I soon came across another path on my right, leading to the sea.
Volleyball Views
They take their volleyball seriously at this hotel. There were even seats next to the court for spectators.
Distant Viewpoint
The path soon led me to a platform overlooking the sea.
Beware Currents
These signs are routinely ignored. This is a shame, because they tend to put them where people have drowned in the past. The key point to remember from the sign is that if you are caught in a rip tide, the worst thing you can do is try to swim directly back to shore.
If you read that and think "what is a riptide?" it is a strong current that pulls you out from the shore. If you get caught in one, swim to the side until you are out of it, and then swim to shore. One of the reasons you see so many artificial reefs around these days, is to make the sea safer. Every year, people drown in the waters along the Paphos coast, so these warnings are not to be taken lightly.
