Asimina Suites Renovations
We were walking along the Boardwalk the other day and we noticed that the Asimina Suites was undergoing some renovations. So we stopped to take some pictures and speculate as to what they were going to do...
Boardwalk View
We started at St Nicholas Chapel, and headed down towards the Sea Front. Having passed Pioneer Beach Resort we couldn't help but notice a bit of commotion in its neighbouring hotel, the Asimina Suites.
Closed
There is a lot of scaffolding up. If you look closely you can see lots of steel girders forming a frame on the roof. This would imply that they are adding at least one more floor, in a similar fashion to what happen at St George's Hotel in Chloraka.
Off Limits
The grounds are all fenced off, including the Pyramid area where they have weddings and meetings.
Winter Ready
They don't take the seats into storage though. They just put a protective wrapper over them.
Aqua Mare View
It looks like they will be adding at least two new floors. The holidaymakers you can see on the left are staying at the Aqua Mare. Hopefully the building work won't impact too much on their stay. However, this is the risk you take when booking an off-season holiday. Hotels need maintenance, and they can only carry out the work during the quiet period.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
