Ascos Hotel Information - April 2026
Cafe Culture?
It looks like that is a restaurant eating area up there. I couldn't smell any breakfast or lunch smells though.
Balls
There were a few hopeful balls on the tennis court, but no sign of any players. I see they operate a ladder scheme here.
Through The Square Window
I walked back round to the Main Entrance and through the empty car park. Looking through the main doors I could see a ladder or two, so they have obviously been doing maintenance of some sort.
Illuminations
I noticed that the lights were on indoors, so somebody must be in.
Answers
Just after I took this shot, a workman appeared. I asked him when the Hotel was due to re-open. He pointed behind him to an open door I had seen previously but avoided up until now. So I went in and met two very helpful ladies who obviously worked for Ascos Hotel. They informed me that the Hotel was having some renovations done, and will be re-opening towards the end of May. They were due to re-open in the beginning of April, but had a lot of cancellations because of the situation in Iran, so they decided to move back the opening date to give them more time to do the renovations properly.
This is fully understandable. It must be difficult for the Tourism Industry at the moment, especially when the Media keep inventing scare stories for the sake of engagement, rather than reporting facts. For the record, Cyprus is exceptionally safe, and the airports are operating normally. There have been some customer cancellations but this should make it easier for you to get a lovely holiday organised, not harder. You can see what the weather is like, though, full disclosure, rain is forecast for the weekend. Next week is set to be sunny too!
Anyway, that is what is happening at the Ascos Hotel. If anybody who works there reads this and would like us to return when they re-open for a tour, please do get in touch. I would have mentioned it to the two ladies I met but I forgot.
