Old Bath?

I am not sure what this thing used to be? I am guessing by its shape that it was an old bath, but I could be wide of the mark. I wish I had paid more attention to that notice board though.

Anyway, there is a bit of confusion as to the exact timeline. If you scroll a bit further down the google page, you will find a relevent discussion on the Tripadvisor forum, from 2019:

Aloe Hotel

We are currently staying at the Amavi Hotel & have just heard that the owners of The Aloe have received permission to raze it to the ground & build a new high rise hotel on the site. The empty land near the Aloe is also going to be built on this winter.

Re: Aloe Hotel

2 x 15 storey apartment blocks apparently. Multi million euro penthouse apartments.

So, the notion of knocking the hotel down and building two towers was not exactly a secret in 2019, before it got the goahead in 2020.

Future Prospects

By now I was feeling very much a Private Dick, so I did some more digging, all the way back to Page 5 in the Google results. It was there I spied an article from a Cyprus Estate Agents Website. The main focus on the article was Cap St George. Coincidentally, I will be writing an article on that soon, and have already published a drone film showing what it is like. This was the relevent portion (and remember, don't shoot the messenger):

It is worth noting that the developer is currently implementing another important project in Paphos – Soho Resort.

Soon, the first high-rises will appear in the city, just 100 meters from the coast. A grandiose complex of two 15- and 16-story buildings will be located right next to SODAP beach. In fact, this is the very center of Paphos: from here it's just a stone's throw to The Old Town and to Pano Paphos.

The West Tower will have 50 luxury apartments, and the East Tower will have 68 apartments. High-rises with an elegant, unique silhouette will stand out against the background of other buildings, while not disturbing the landscape, but rather bringing futuristic notes into it. Non-standard, progressive design of Soho Resort will break out of the classic design principles.

Each element of the complex is designed in such a way as not to limit the look. The innovative use of glass will provide a feeling of literally filling both towers with unique Cypriot light and sea breeze, making every square meter of this ambitious project attractive and outstanding. In addition, the apartments have full finishing, underfloor heating and a smart home system.

If you are interested in purchasing one of the new apartments, prices start at 1,320,000 and go up to 6,800,000 euros. Before you buy one, though, why not buy us a coffee for introducing you?

I'm not proud.

We've always loved urban exploring - visiting abandoned old buildings - and Cyprus has more than its fair share, from old hotels to forgotten hospitals for disused mines. When we discovered the place we are about to show you though, we really hit the Urbex Jackpot. This place is amazing, and has a remarkably colourful past as well.
