Old Paramali - Aphrodite meets Call of Duty
To The Roof
So let's take a closer look. If we shin up that wall we can get see what is up there.
Bullet Clips!
My God, this brought back memories. The black specs were bullet clips. They were used to hold together 7.62mm cartridges in a bullet belt.
I should perhaps explain. I grew up in Ash Vale, right next to the big firing ranges that all the squaddies in the area (Aldershot) would train on. Consequently I got to explore huge areas finding stuff like this. I think though, that if I had found an entire abandoned village dedicated to target practice I would have exploded in excitement as a kid.
I've just checked and these days you can buy bullet belts on Amazon for £20 odd. Back in the day we sold the ones we made to a shop in Aldershot for 50p a belt. Child labour and all that...
Squaddie Graffiti
According to this, Green Jackets are poofs who had their asses kicked. This is about the level of graffiti I would find on Ash Ranges too.
Interesting Oven
Before I fully regressed to childhood and started collecting clips (don't worry, I didn't, and besides, without the cartridges, of which I could see none, they aren't much use) I decided to explore some more buildings.
Baker's Oven
This was far too big for a regular oven. This must have been the village bakery.
