Re: Hard to find at Paphos supermarkets....

What a shame! Lidl is the only of the large supermarkets I am shopping. However I study their online leaflet each week and perhaps one day I am lucky to see their offer of German Sauerkraut in tins. Max Next time you are in why not have a word with the Manager. He should know if , when and where th...

Re: Are HMRC cheques aceptable at Cyptiot banks?

They don't only send cheques, the paid my Tax Rebate into my UK bank account. With the RBS if you are on Digital Banking your UK branch will accept a photo of the cheque there are a few hoops but not many. I assume other banks are the same

Re: medical for renewing a driving licence

I think that Trev is right 1 month max, if you do it before that they renew your license sooner. If you are over 73 you will also need an Eye test you will get a referral from your PD although I believe some PDs do it themselves.

Re: Happy St George's Day

Saint George's Day is usually celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of the saint's death in the Diocletianic Persecution. However Saint's days are not observed if they fall between Palm Sunday and the second Sunday of Easter, they will then be celebrated the following Monday.

Of course , this year, it is not St George's Day till Monday. Something to do with the timing of Easter, but if you are not celebrating it doesn't matter.

Famous Speech to Parliament

I was clearing out some of the files on my computer and I came across this famous speech to Parliament :- It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonoured by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice. Ye are a factious crew,...

I believe that you have to use the Company that supplied the tank, and like Trev I think that they own it. Re: GESY payments somebody will know ?

According to one of the Pharmacies that we go to pointed out that if the medication that you get is not the generic one then there is a cost to pay even if you have reached your € 150 limit. My wife gets some pretty expensive medication so we have to pay a contribution, not the full cost. To be hone...
