We are trying to buy a compost bin but so far no luck so can anyone let us know where we can require one. Have been to several places around Peyia area but out of luck.

I really liked the idea of having a compost bin, but mine never seemed to turn into compost so I stopped using it.

Any experts out there who can give me advice on how to make it work?

If you don't get one in Superhome try Home & Garden on the internet. They have them and delivery over 50€ is free anywhere. Ive found them pretty good.

Although I'm sorry I can't help with locating a bin, I offer the following related info. I have been composting since the early seventies, to be as organic as posssible for vegetable growing. I have always built my own wooden bins with whatever was to hand. The bigger the better- more heat generated, faster and more complete composting, kills bugs. A cubic metre is a good size.
We have a quick drainig hungry alkali soil which is always in need of much organic matter and nitrogen. When those two needs are addressed, superb brassicas result, as well as good spuds onions and tomatoes.
A wonderful natural free source of nitrogen is urine. We collect as much as possible, for feeding [dilute], speeding compost making and soil improvement [getting PH down]. Local growers apply at least two heavy dressings of granular nitrogen over the winter as a minimum.
Incidentally, I have never needed to use any chemical insecticides or pesticides.
