GESY payments somebody will know ?

Post by lefkes »

Having reached the maximum annual co payment for the current year and not having to contribute towards medication I was surprised i had to pay 18 euros towards a blood test at the general hospital today . Does this sound correct ? as not expecting to have to contribute anything .
Thanks in advance for any information . lefkes.

Depends when your blood test form was issued.

If it was issued before you reached the 150 euro contribitions and showed the 18 euros that is why you had to pay.
The next bloodtest form you get should show zero payment

That is what happened to us.

I always paid €3 for a series of blood tests every 2 months, up until the end of last year when it suddenly went up to €10. My rheumatologist may have added a few more tests though, but there are so many I can't really be faffed to go through them all to check.

I see now this is exactly what has happened. The blood test was requested nearly three months ago ready for my next visit, which was before my contribution reached the 150 euros .
Thank you for clarifying the situation and thank you for other replies .lefkes .

According to one of the Pharmacies that we go to pointed out that if the medication that you get is not the generic one then there is a cost to pay even if you have reached your € 150 limit. My wife gets some pretty expensive medication so we have to pay a contribution, not the full cost. To be honest we don't mind as the medication is very expensive.
