Re: Huge Explosion In Beirut

There has been some goings on between Israeli forces and Iran's Hezbollah, on the borders of Lebanon the last week or so, my guess is Israel took the opportunity to take out the storage facility

I think the basic jist of Max's post is a bit of a warning though. Make sure you budget to pay for your leccy bill, as they are out looking for them now.

Re: EAC quick to issue bill

I was surprised today getting my electricity bill already, as only yesterday the guy came to read my meter. It looks like they are desperate for money as the dead line to pay is within 3 weeks from now. OK, they won't get rich from me as my bill is only 11.84 for the last two month, slightly higher...

I won't comment on the Spanish situation as I know nothing about it. However, given that the Epstein affair is still ongoing in the courts, it is too soon to say. As an aside, why was Bill Wyman never arrested? Didn't Mandy Smith admit to having under-age sex with him? As for prince Andrew, his disa...

Re: Royalty

You have got to be kidding. You speak of history, but perhaps you should study it a bit more? This is small beer compared to some of the shenanigans royalty has got up to over the ages. I agree with you Dominic, Royalty got away with so much nasty evil stuff, that I would need a week or two to post ...

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

Ahhh, the SBA is a totally different board game. You mainly find SBA speed traps by the tunnel and I always slow down to 80KPH going through there as the sign says and also stick to the speed limits in SB areas. I think it was five speed traps I went through doing 116 going to and from Limmasol on ...

Re: Parliament votes tougher fines for drivers

I set mine at 116 KPH and been through lots of speed traps and never been stopped. It's as Kansas said, the police allow up to 120 according to my Cypriot relations that's why you see most Cypriots going over the speed limit, especially commercial vehicles. Many countries do that, go the UAE the sp...

kansas wrote: Mon Aug 03, 2020 6:43 am If I'm on an empty highway with a long way to go, why not drive at the maximum permitted speed?
The max speed is 100, where do you get 120

I have been given a ticket for doing 110, all this 120 before you get a ticket is an urban myth.

Re: Inexpensive seller of nuts and seeds?

There is a nut factory here in larnaca Amalia, they will sell to you, but it has to be a large amount, we went once, but we ended up eating double our usual amount, just trying to get through them before the expiry date was up, and if I remember, although we got a discount, it wasnt that much.

WHL I dont think so, have you read, Constantinople, The Last Great Siege of 1453, very interesting book by Roger Crawley. The fall of Constantinople was down to the Schism between the Greek Orthodox and Catholic Churches. The Pope offered help (with conditions of course) but this was refused becaus...
