Did I Overstay the 90 in 180 Days Rule?
I arrived in mid-June 2022 and stayed for 17 days, then returned to Cyprus in mid-October and stayed until mid-February 2023. I made the assumption that my June arrival date marked the beginning of the 90 in 180 day period that would end on December 8th. Then the next day the 180 day period would st...

Re: Earthquake
It woke me up around 3:30am here in Pissouri as I was dreaming about elephants passing by, and large cats scratching at and climbing the lemon tree outside my bedroom. Got out of bed pretty sure it was an earthquake, put on proper clothes and shoes to head outside and by the time I opened the door i...

Re: Electric Blanket replacement
Have you looked into package forwarding companies? I came across a website by someone who used this kind of service in Cyprus and other parts of the world and reviewed the various options. He also has some interesting things to say about how you can circumvent Amazon's no-shipping to Cyprus problem....

Re: A Drive Around Pissouri
Great video! I've been staying in Pissouri since October and never tire of the views. I can see the whole valley and the highrises and Port structures of Limassol from my father's place at the top of the village. You can drive right over the plateau you started on down into Melanda Bay, or walk it. ...

Thanks very much for this review, and I wish it was open for lunch!
I love that "pizza" can stretch to egg and spinach, or topped with franks. I had no idea that Cypriots love pizza, and I'll keep that in mind when I see places like this that are not just for tourists or ex-pats.

I love this: "But remember that the suffering will be forgotten but the work will remain."
There's something poetic about these kinds of translations.

New ‘historic’ shelters for hikers in tourism upgrade
Two shelters, converted from an old schoolhouse and a forestry shelter, will be open to long-distance hikers in the Paphos forest. The article also mentions upgrades to trails near Stavros tis Psokas, and other plans that are part of the "deputy tourism ministry’s national strategic tourism pla...

Re: Paphos Harbour Update
Thanks for this video, and I'll look forward to checking out the work soon, maybe on Wednesday with a trip to Coral Bay for a chore and the Duck Pond Market for produce and whatever else is on offer. I was at the harbour right up to the castle in late October/early November and wondered about those ...

Re: Peyia Forest to Kathikas
I know this route well, but for another route I'd find it useful. We like to get on to that road, the E709, from the E701 just before the turnoff to the Sea Caves. We love this drive and wouldn't use any other route to get to Polis/Latchi. The road down to Latchi is terrific too. On our way back fro...

Loved this blog! Looking forward to visiting the village sometime soon. According to Eleftherios Tserkezis (BA Classics, MA Byzantine History) on Quora the painting is of Ayia Marina, who is traditionally depicted manhandling the devil or striking him with a hammer. He goes on to say “Notice how the...

Josef k, please could you post directions to this museum in Geroskipou? I would like to visit it. I read something about it in a local advertisement mag. But there were no details about visiting or hours it is open. Thanks for more info. Dee This is the Department of Antiquities website: http://www...

Wow, what a great report! I love this kind of report and this kind of trail, and I carry secateurs with me too. This was such a joy to read on Christmas Day, thanks for the present Dominic. Re: Interruption of 5-yr temporary residency because of Covid (away longer than 90 days)
I emailed Immigration direct after being delayed in the UK for 8 months due to surgery. I had a reply within the hour telling me to print and carry with me any evidence for the delay. I have been back to Cyprus 3 times since and had no issues entering or leaving. With an MEU1, he would be entitled ...

Interruption of 5-yr temporary residency because of Covid (away longer than 90 days)
My father was away from Cyprus for more than 90 days during the first year of Covid because of all the obvious complications and risks of travel, and would otherwise have no problem getting his MUKW3 in mid-2023 (5 yrs with the yellow slip, owns a house). Has anyone on this forum had a similar exper...

Can you drive into My Mall Limassol from the back?
I’m just getting used to driving on the left and not yet ready for any double roundabouts, the motorway, or the Limassol Vertical Port Road. I know there are parking lots behind the mall, and a couple of roads that run south from the E602 southwest of the Zakaki roundabout. Can anyone confirm that I...

Re: Looking for Cyprus Traditional Food/Drink Maker Recommendations
There is a small but lovely carob museum in the village of Anogyra. Thanks, Louise. I've been to that museum and agree it is lovely - as is the village. Their carob syrup was the best we'd had in Cyprus until I bought some in the Pissouri village store in June. When we were at the museum the propri...

I don't like Loukoumia at all, but their almond paste is excellent quality, however that is not the point what I like or you don't like. The original topic was about to find Cypriot traditional food/drink producers for a new member on this forum..... that's why I answered. Max Thanks for the recomm...

Looking for Cyprus Traditional Food/Drink Maker Recommendations
Any recommendations for a great bakery, cheese maker/dairy, farm stand, butcher, producer of olive oil, carob syrup/products, wine/grape products, fruit/preserves? Any village stores or restaurants that also sell some great locally made food products? I’m looking for tasty treats, but also looking f...
