Re: Flies!!

I have more flies than usual around and in the pool - I wondered if it was the heat and they're looking for water to drink.

Re: Heat wave an ‘ally against coronavirus’ , says expert

I think that even if sneezing is not a symptom (which I didn't think it was), if someone has the virus and sneezes for any normal reason, then the sneeze would spread the virus unless the person covers the sneeze up properly.

Re: Bee-eaters loving a bath....

Great photos Max. I too have been taking quite a few photos of bee-eaters the past week. But even though they are often on wires above my garden, I have never seem them swoop down over the pool and drink out of it, so I am very envious that you got to see that and well done on managing to get good p...

Re: Trying to understand the new rules

Surely the important thing is how many other people are there. If you live in a district, using whichever definition you like, and the place you go to walk has lots of people who are not socially distancing then the thing to do is go somewhere else. The same goes for shops. Just because we are on t...

Re: Trying to understand the new rules

Nothing to do with post codes. As Devil says our District is Paphos, so anywhere as long as it isn't Limmasol, Larnaca etc. Yesterday for the first time since the lockdown I went (via car) from Tala down to the coast for a dog walk. Considering there were no tourists it was still quite busy. Of cou...

Trying to understand the new rules

Hello all I understand that for exercise, the rule about "adjacent to your house" as been removed (albeit the official site in English has not been updated yet) so presumably that means I can go for a short drive and then walk there. Also that although parks are still closed you can walk on pathways...

Yes, that was a quick storm here and it's nice and sunny outside now - but it feels and smells so lovely and fresh!

Re: E-reader advice please

Amazon.com, Amazon UK and Amazon Germany, none will deliver to Cyprus, so will go for another solution. Thanks all. That's very strange about Amazon.com, I thought that here in Cyprus we had to order from Amazon International, which is Amazon.com. Certainly this is where I got both my Kindles from ...

Re: Asprokemmos reservoir.

I popped by yesterday lunchtime and there were no concession stands yet (just one set of metal frame bars) and very few people - but then it was new year's day and most people were with families. They must have dashed up there nice and early today to get their prime spots! It was looking very full, ...

Re: Butcher Boy - re-locating

The new location, if correct, would be no good for me, it would really be out of my way and mean driving through the busiest part of town instead of passing it on my way home. So I would use Kolios instead. I'm hoping they're opening a 2nd shop rather than moving. Guess I'll find out next time I go ...

Love these photos, I don't think I've seen it quite that still.

I'm looking forward to watching the water rise up the church as the winter progresses. I wonder how high Kouris will get this winter?
