Re: Max Rapp - Rest In Peace

Oh, this is the saddest news. He was such a big part of this forum, and his posts have been noticeable by their absence these last few weeks. The forum won't be quite the same without him. I always enjoyed his posts, photos and stories and will very much miss them.

Re: Renal Problems In Cats

Good luck. I have been through it with a cat with chronic kidney disease, and unfortunately have to admit it got harder as time went on. At the beginning she was ok with the special diet food, but got fussier as time went on and wouldn't eat it - and I tried many different brands. I can't offer much...

Re: Lottery Dream

On the same subject, but on a tangent... Does anyone know the Cyprus Opap rules, for Joker etc? How much Cyprus tax would you pay on a large win (well, I can dream, can't I?)? Can non-residents play Joker? Eg, my family have bought tickets when visiting when there's a large prize. If their ticket wo...

Re: Fires 🔥

It's all so devastating and heart breaking. It's such a lovely part of Cyprus, I love driving up there and exploring the villages and countryside and hidden gems. And it's outstanding what a large area it covered, how much was lost. I'm dreading the next time I drive up there, though of course that ...

This is sad news. As a long-time forum member, CL before PL, I'm sure I read hundreds of his posts over the years. I missed them when he stopped posting here.

Condolences to his family.

Re: Trozena Reborn

What a lovely post, it's been a couple of years since I drove through the village so I'll have to go back soon. I first came across the waterfall by accident years ago, it was a lovely surprise. Hopefully we'll have enough rain next winter for it to flow again.

Re: First time .... (pic)

That is worrying, poor foxes and other wildlife. I am envious though that you got to see one up close and get a photo. The few times I have seen a fox they've just been quickly running across the road. Just for you, Ams, the next day the male fox appeared at my garden and I got him just after it wa...

Re: Getting To Foinikas From Anarita

I walked to Foinikas from the water treatment building a few weeks ago. An enjoyable walk if you don't mind the uphill on the way back. It's not too steep though. The walk took me around 2 hours round trip but that's me taking it very easy, walking down a bit as well as up to Foinikas, and stopping ...

Re: Shipping products from UK

With eShop you have to fill in the customs declaration once the parcel arrives at their warehouse, even when it's an EU warehouse, and then you pay the VAT and customs charge (for UK parcels) when it arrives in Cyprus. So all seems above board. (I have nothing to do with the company, I've just found...

Here you go - https://www.eshopwedrop.com.cy/en They stopped the UK for a while but they do it again now. You do end up paying VAT twice (in the UK and on arrival here) but when I need something I can't get another way I just grin and bear it (and swear about Brexit). It takes 2-3 weeks to arrive he...

Re: "Coral" will bring temperatures much down...

I'm quite enjoying it, the air is lovely and fresh and it makes a nice change after the mild January (and last few winters). It helps that it's not raining though, as it would be more miserable then (though yes, I know we desperately need rain). But yes, I like cold spells to be quite short lived, I...
