Lloyd, why don't you pass the information on to me, and I will update the main Caritas charity page with the data.

I'd like to donate Lloyd, I think this outing is a lovely idea and they'll enjoy it very much. Any chance I can donate online - I could send a payment through Paypal for example.

Caritas aren't very technically savvy I am afraid. Your best bet is contacting Wendy.

You can find the details in Lloyd's post above or on their charity page:

https://www.paphoslife.com/sponsors/caritas2

Lloyd, I have stickied this, and if you send me the info I will see if I can knock up something more snazzy for the charity page. I can then share that on the facebook group.

I will also sort out some sort of payment gateway. Watch this space for something later today.

Right, you can now donate to the Picnic Appeal.

Follow this link:

https://www.paphoslife.com/coffee

This is a little form I have written to replace the old "Buy Me A Coffee" link, which was a bit cumbersome.

On that form, you have to enter your name, the amount you want to donate, and your email address. The email is only so you get a notification of payment received.

There is also a field where you can enter a message. To donate to the appeal, add the word "Appeal" in the message box.

Once you complete the form, you will be asked, securely, for your CC details. These aren't stored on site. The payment is taken using a commercial payment gateway.

In order that we can have a proper audit trail, please also send a PM to Lloyd (Happy in Cyprus) telling him the amount. Then he will know what to expect from me at the end of the appeal.

Here's a topical song that might inspire people to donate. :)

Please, please help with this worthy cause if you can. Having seen and met many of these people, let me assure you they are all genuine and hardworking who are escaping atrocities you would find hard to believe.

I met a young 16 yr old from Damascus who endured a 26 hr boat journey to get here, he is an orphan, who struggles to buy even the most basic items. He wants eventually to return to rebuild his country, if he returns now, he needs to choose to fight for Assad, or the rebels, he wants neither. He can neither work or get support at present.

Getting support in Cyprus will take at least 6 months and whilst he may be a bit old for Lloyds trip, he is indicative of the support needed.

Caritas is his only refuge at present providing both food and clothing.

Hello Lloyd

Have sent you a PM - been trying to send my donation but I cannot fill the card expiry date in the relevant field because it just wont let me and I have tried 3 times - card number etc o.k but not the expiry date and trying to submit without it again fails with a red request for that information. Can you assist please. Have been away in the North for the past week - sorry.

Rita

NB I will have another go now.

Hello Again Lloyd

I have been successful with my donation this time and it has gone and the bank have confirmed this in a text so hopefully it is now where it should be. Sorry for the trouble. Have also sent you a second PM to confirm this.

Best wishes

You can view the two charity pages here too:

https://www.paphoslife.com/sponsors/caritas

That was after my initial visit to them in the Spring

https://www.paphoslife.com/sponsors/caritas2

That was when they had some emergency appeals over the summer.

There will be a new update soon featuring all the pictures from the recent exhibition.

Regarding your payment problem, Rita, send me details of your problem and I will take a look at it.
