Growing out of the pottery pipe which was the home of a black snake in the past, so the snake has to find another one next to it....

My first thought was a fungus, but thought that was too obvious and assumed it was a rare geological formation.
But, am I alone in finding the apparent teeth of the black snake really, really disturbing?

What Teeth, is it not just the markings on the face, mind you maybe some on the inside.
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !
