As the sun has finally started to make an appearance, and Cyprus is warming up, we decided to take a proper look at the Spring flowers now adorning the hills and hedgerows of Paphos, before they wilt in the increasing heat...

Glad you like them. I was a bit wary about posting another flower-friendly blog, but the dust levels make landscape shots look too washed out at the moment.

Amazing quality photos, thank you, also for the descriptions of the different wild flowers. Specially the extreme close up's is what I like the most, knowing how difficult it is on site, to produce that excellent photos. It must have taken endless time to do that... Bravo!

Thank you Dominic for sharing the wonders of nature that Cyprus has to offer in the Springtime, the photography is superb, I love the wild flowers and their amazing colours but I am biased towards the poppies.

A couple of years ago there was a field near Melandra that put on a stunning display. It was a sheet of red. We looked for it when we were taking these pictures, but couldn't find it. Presumably it was red when the field was lying fallow.
