This morning, Polemi was bathed in Spring sunshine, as it invited people to come and see the tulips that flourish there every year. It is an annual event, which gives a true taste of traditional Cypriot life. And as we live in Polemi ourselves, it would be rude not to cover it, wouldn't it?

Re: Polemi Tulip Festival
Thanks for the photos Dominic, unfortunately we had to miss it due to my back being in a very bad way after very heavy lift transporting one of the special Cancer Patient Support Group motorised beds from Paphos to Prodomi on Friday morning. Hopefully the festival back in the refurbished Metochi next year. The tulips you see in amongst the grape vines are the survivors after years of rotatavating and ploughing. The guys in the village coffee shop tell me the tulips used to spread all along from Stroumbi but the machinery and chemicals have seen a lot off. The field belonging to Andreas down what we call Piggy Lane (about half way between our house and you) usually has loads. There seem to more of the purple mini gladioli around this year.
