Another glorious sight in the western sky last night at around 21:00 GMT was the constellation of Orion, though not as bright here in UK as it was when I last viewed it in Paphos 3 weeks ago...
Now, if you have binoculars or telescope, let's take a closer look at Orion. yes? First, visually line up on the three horizontal stars in the centre of Orion that form the 'belt'. Just below that are a fuzzy vertical alignment of stars that form Orion's 'sword'. This is the amazing area you need to zoom in on with binoculars or telescope!
You'll see gobsmacking coloured clouds of nebulous gas (including the Horse Head Nebula) where new stars are being born every day! Awesome sight, believe me...
