Oh dear! Yes, Adonis Baths are rather remote down about 3 km of mainly unsurfaced track. We see a lot of tourists in Kamares who are intent on going there, but can't find the access road/ track. The other evening one stopped us while we were out walking locally, As it was less than 45mins before sunset, we advised him to wait until the following day to go there. There are tracks down towards the Mavrokolympus Reservoir, but they are steep and the terrain may be rough! I'm surprised in a way that more tourists don't get lost!!
Glad that the one mentioned in the article managed to get back to his hotel safely.

We like driving near there as an interesting route back to Polemi from the Akamas. The E4 goes above it. We always find it amusing that they advertise the road as "Good for all vehicles", when clearly it isn't.

I'm guessing the village he ended up in was Akoursos. He could have kipped in that cave!

The E4 is a European walking route, that passes through Cyprus from Paphos to Larnaca airport. It take a very picturesque journey through the Akamas, Paphos Forest and bits of Troodos, to name some of the more popular areas en route.

A lot of the E4 can be driven on. Indeed, if you have driven on the Akamas it is likely that you have driven on the E4 at some point. However, you would run into problems if you tried to drive the entire length, as parts of the E4 are restricted to a narrow footpath.

I remember being there several years ago and were stopped by a German family of tourists in a tiny car who said " But they say it is OK for all cars!" and asked us if there was a better way out. They had driven from the Coral Bay route so we showed them the way back to Zelamenos and said it was no better but probably a bit shorter.
