webcams, winterly moods in the countryside..

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Just flicked through the webcam images and realized the winterly mood at Polemi. Strange for the time of the year. However I also recognized how clear and perfect the harbour image from Elean camera is since yesterday...

Max, this is a regular occurrence in the early mornings here in a Polemi. The large area of land, the lowest and flattest, is often filled with this mist across to Stroumbi, I have some spectacular photos. Out home is set halfway up a small hill and it usually gets as far as the bottom of our garden. A neighbour has a photo that she says makes it look like the house is set on the edge of a lake. The same thing sometimes happens in the evening and with the garden floodlights on you can see it swirling down the slopes. Occasionally, the village and views across to Stroumbi are completely obscured.

I thought I felt rain in the air whilst I was out walking the dog this morning. I hope it just stays cloudy as I want to stain a fence and 2 gates

We had a tiny bit of rain overnight and a bit of drizzle this morning.

With regards to the harbour,, they moved the awning it resides under the day before yesterday, and accidently knocked the camera, so it was pointing at the road. I noticed Thursday afternoon, and by Friday morning Arestis had got it pointing the right way again and cleaned the lens.

It was straighter too, so the viewable image is now slightly wider.

Nice to see the harbour area busy again, even without sunshine...

Incidentally I have to blur the lower half of the image slightly to comply with EU law. That is why you cannot make out any faces.

And yes, people did complain. Bizarrely, the only complaints came from people living in Germany, but complain they did.
