Wow a country being led by Jimmy Krankie - Good Luck
On the plus side she's not a charlatan, a liar and a blustering imbecile like the PM in Downing Street.

Umm - Maybe Alex Salmon could give an opinion on her

Happy Birthday - BB is watching :0)
The difference being is the allegations by Salmond were just that, allegations whereas Blojo has a history, wasnt he sacked by Michael Howard for lying?

Thanks for the Birthday greetings by the way.

It a pity the admin cannot bring up some of the early 2000’s posts when certain posters new to the island had a very middle class outlook on life.

I do not believe that bringing "class" into the forum is advisable. Many of the users here stemmed from those who used their limbs to work, many of them were also pen pushers and many, again, were in management or equivalent (not to mention ex-military). To have such a wide spectrum of input does not necessarily make for a middle-class lifestyle forum.

I think that would be an impossible task for the admin to do that.
This forum wasn't running at the time you mention...

Lucky you (and me!) I've never defined myself by class, not really sure where I would fit in. Not that I am bothered either way. :D

If they cannot settle it in that time, I do not think they will be able to settle it at all. Even if there were a union, there would still be bloodshed between the Catholics and Protestants, most of whom are not Irish at all but of Scottish descent. The latter are more militant.
Sorry Devil, it was James II, Charles was dead by then. James II was Catholic hence the battle following his deposition by William of Orange and Parliament in 1688.

Strange logic, it's like saying that's what most Europeans probably thought about the UK leaving the EU, it's always raining there, so who cares 😆

I have only visited Scotland once as well. The countryside was stunning. I walked up Ben Nevis, went for a dip in Glen Nevis, ate some lovely Salmon and got bitten to smithereens by midgies.

If I had my time again I would do it all over, apart from jumping off the bridge into the waterfall at Glen Nevis. I think that is where I got most of my bites.

Spent many years working in Scotland, a beautiful country and was fortunate to have travelled the length and breadth, even to the isles.
I love Wales, especially Anglesey and I've been fortunate to work and travel extensively there as well.

Visited Scotland twice. Once to do a medieval re-enactment in Dumfries and once to visit Edinburgh. I found the country and people welcoming and very scenic and fascinating. Fortunately the weather was good on both visits.

We have a home in Wales and find the countryside and history absolutely fascinating.

Every time I've been to Scotland has been in the winter months and it's absolutely stunning.

Photography there is fantastic. The natural light gives amazing uplift and the colours produced are fabulous.

Our last visit was to Oban and I can't wait to go back again.

RW

It's a long way from where I live unfortunately, if I had been nearer in my native Lancashire, I might have been tempted.

On the last occasion I visited Scotland, my purse was pinched at the Wallace Monument, and as we were under canvas, we awoke to our camp beds and sleeping bags being waterlogged, not the best experience. Fast trip home sadly.
