Why are there so many people on this forum who think if someone states something they disagree with then that person must be wrong and should "go away", I would think there are many Cypriot born people who agree with Mirek.
We are all entitled to our own opinion.
I have no problem with constructive criticism but I do have a problem when people put forward an arguement that is factually incorrect.
No doubt there's many who would like to live in drab Stalinist tower blocks and not see money "wasted" on art or culture but thank God I'm not one of them.
Why don’t we all agree that tolerance to each persons views is important. It seems strange to me that some Brits turn against others of the same nationality on a public forum.
Live and let live comes to mind!
No one is against people putting valid and constructive criticism, on living here in Cyprus, what does put peoples backs up is, the usual few suspects on here , who never have one good word to say about the country or its people, that they choose to live in, be it Hospitals, doctors, goverment departments, law and order, etc etc etc, these are the same people who live here for donkeys years, and still don't know two words in the local laungage, not even to say good morning or bye bye in Greek, for the life of me, I can't see why they stay here if everything about the place is so terrible, these are the same people who moan about foreigners going to the UK , not learning the laungage, not mixing with the locals, living amongst their own kind, just as alot of Brits, do here, Irony at its best, how many prefer to moan and whinge, on here instead of picking up the phone and ringing the local council or police, be it fly tipping, bad parking, etc etc , and moan to the people who can actually do something about the problem, so if some forum members, ask the question, if you hate it so much, here in Cyprus, why dont you go back to the UK, It is not an unreasonable question to ask.

So if your from the same nationality, you shouldnt question them, thats some strange logic there , Breaking news that's what public forums are for, to have a public debate,

The answer is obvious - because things are worse in the place to which these people could go. Doesn't prohibit them from pointing out the shortcomings of where they live now though. However some of the comments do seem to wish to turn Cyprus into the place from where they originate, which is the last thing I would want and does beg the question as to why they are here. Change for the better will take place but it will take time and i, for one, am in no hurry.
