Gas heating installation

Hi all
I know I have seen a post on gas heating installations and costs here, however I cannot seem to find it now. If any body has advice or can recommend an experience installer it would be great.

As no one else has replied as yet, I suggest you get a quote from Absolut Heating and Cooling.
They have their offices on the left side of the Polis Rd, when you leave Paphos and are heading towards Polis. Their office is between the first ‘Shipshape’ traffic lights and is before you get to the mini roundabout where the road from the hospital joins the Polis Rd.They are a well established local company who specialise in supplying and fitting gas central heating.

I had this done once when we lived in Peyia about 18 years ago ten radiators and a combination LPG gas boiler, it was a very messy job as you can imagine with pipes needed to be boxed in and the way these properties are built not an easy job to fit, a fact of this is they did not have a LPG Combination boiler available in Pafos, so they had to find an importer, I guess they are easily available now, mine was a strange set up we had to go outside and move the water valve to the upper part of our home the boiler was fitted in a box unit outside!, it worked well enough but was rarely used, when we moved to our new house we did not bother doing it again, we just use fitted gas fires, on when you do need them and easy to control, I think an option you should consider, easy to fit with little mess, best in either options is to have a tanker filled 500KG tank. Also do some insulating work like ceilings and decent double UPVC glazing, not cheap but it should pay for itself over time.

Although we live in Argaka not Paphos, we recently had our gas boiler serviced by a Polis company called Mapatherm who also sell boilers and do installation. Very impressed with the quality of their work. You may want to give them a call on 26 323952.

There's several different systems available these days, a friend is looking at electric wall heating which is painted onto the wall.
We have underfloor heating which we think is really good, the tiled floors are really cold and radiators don't take the coldness off the floors.

The costs for a central heating installation depend on the amount of radiators in how many rooms, etc.

In my opinion gas/diesel boiler is the technique of the past and will p.e. in Germany not be allowed after 2025. (I don't know if this change in Cyprus will also happen so quick)

Much more efficient is a electric air heat pump to heat the water in the boiler. Another advantage"': you don't need tank, etc...

With regard to the "paintable wall heating" a friend of mine is looking at it and has been talking to a UK company about it, but the principle, I would think is the same

Here is a link to the web site, it seems to tick a lot of boxes, especially, as in a restaurant where space is a premium. I would imagine taking 5 or 6 radiators out of a restaurant would add a few extra tables which would recoup the cost quicker. There is a cost analysis on the web site and Marco Pierre White saw a 7 month ROI , but this wouldn't necessarily apply to all and like one of the other posters did mention without underfloor heating in the winter tiled floors are mightily cold in Cyprus !!!!

Re tiled floors being cold in winter.. Modern properties (like ours) have 4 inches of foam concrete under the tiles which acts as a insulation.. And of course we don't walk around in bare feet in winter. We have socks and slippers on..
Our house is well insulated in the walls and the ceilings.. We have UPVC double glazed windows and doors. We also opted for ordinary radiators and they work just fine.. We have the boiler on for an hour in the morning and the same around 5 pm in the evening.. The lounge temperature is usually (like now)
Around 22c.
