Re: BREAKING-Woman found murdered in her Paphos home

Good to hear his fellow countrymen did the right thing by contacting the authorities and keeping a tight hold of him until they arrived.
I bet they turned up a lot faster this time!

Respect passengers, minister warns after inspecting Paphos school bus

This was a story which particularly caught my attention earlier this morning: https://in-cyprus.com/respect-passengers-minister-warns-after-inspecting-paphos-school-bus/ The image of a rather large fungi species growing out of the roof of the bus was especially appealing: https://in-cyprus.com/wp-co...

There's a facebook group called Frozen Cypriots - someone on there may come up with something, if you haven't already joined that one.
Good luck with your search!

Re: Film to watch 1917

We're just back from our viewing which started at about 12:15 this afternoon at our "local" cinema, about 6 miles away. Enjoyed the movie although we each found the really close up whizzing around with the camera effects made us both a bit woozy at the beginning. It was a simple story carried out wi...

Re: Parents of alleged Ayia Napa gang rape victim feel optimistic

From information gleaned over the months since the incident was first reported, she was coerced by the police to retract her initial statement regarding the rape taking place. It's also been reported that this is not the first time such a retraction has been pushed for and in those incidents - the c...

Re: Berengaria buyer may have been found

We went in May 2013 and the building was in a very bad state of repair then with the top left corner of the gable end fallen away, exposed to the elements. Things cannot have improved over the last 7yrs so yes, deep pockets indeed.... Plus, the pool was very small in comparison to the size of the ho...

I think that there is confusion, 'Large/small beer battered' its a beer batter that is used, you do not get a Beer as part of the price
 I was just playing along - I thought Memory Man was too ;)

That's good value:-

Small Beer
Battered Cod & Chips €8.00

Is there a choice of beer?
That large beer costs an extra €3 though, hope there's a varied enough choice to make it worthwhile...

My SIL and BIL used to run that restaurant when it was the Square many years ago.

Re: Kouris Dam Overflows!

I've been watching videos of it flowing along the dry riverbed of the Kouris river all the way down to the old Limassol to Paphos road and out by the Souni bridge turnoff near the DIY shop. I captured photos of a similar incident from the Souni bridge back in April 2012 - the promises of the overflo...

I saw late yesterday evening that it was blamed on a couple of those Chinese sky lanterns which are apparently banned in Germany.

Alexa does store all of your conversation.
However, there's also a way to erase it.

Re: Greek lessons

I started my Modern Greek lessons in UK at night school and did 6 months of study before we moved to live in Cyprus in 2004. It meant I could already read, write and speak some Greek before we landed. Once we were settled into our home, I started lessons locally in Limassol in the town centre but la...

I agree with Terry.
We've used the garden railway sleepers since we returned to UK from Cyprus and they're so easy to use. Lots of garden areas are being utilised by them and they age really well too.

Re: End of an EU era

As Devil has said, it was always the case that it was required any non-Cypriot wishing to start a business prior to the EU membership, they had to have a Cypriot partner holding the maximum share of the company. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what will happen again. Why not check what the current...

Re: Election Predictions

Unbelievable!
But I'm very keen now to see how soon after Brexit, our Government will bring back the fishing industry they've promised to a port which can no longer support fishing trawlers....
At least we've held on to our Labour seat, much to the annoyance of some people 😉
