I have been paying Social Insurance since I began work but have just checked and I will not have made 15 years worth of contributions when I reach 65 so will therefore not be entitled to a Cypriot pension. Does anyone know what happens to the payment’s that I will have made over the previous 14 years
Many thanks

Re: Cyprus Pension
It's the number of units/points not the years as I found I was 1.5 points off a Cy pension. Depends on what you paid in IE any reduced payments if you were self employed and had lower earnings some years. Very frustrating. But you might be able to claim a social pension at 68 which can be a lump sum. But beware claiming a Cy pension can effects you having a white medical card and also making gesy contributions. This I was told from gesy in Nicosia.

Thank you Kissos, looks like I need to make some further Enquires, the problem is that the so called officials all seem to give you a different answer!

Your welcome. I agree the cy pension is one of the most confusing topics I have found here. You get different answers depending on who you speak with, even at the CAB. Good luck with it all
