Maybe the money for the museum refurbishment ran out at some point and work ceased until new funding was available? It looks as if the wheels of officialdom are grinding slowly forwards! Hopefully the museum will be ready to open next year! I feel sure that the Antiquities Dept will want to get it completed and the ancient artifacts safely displayed. The old museum building was far too small for the amount of ‘finds’ that’ await the museums completion.
