I sent an email to the Gesy contact on the link recently provided. I enquired about people (like me) with a chronic disease. This was their reply 2 days later, not that I fully understand it!:-
Dear Mr Strand,
Please be informed that clinical guidelines and detection programs have been developed in order to prevent and address chronic diseases and promote the health of the beneficiaries.Your personal doctor(PD) will be responsible for your treatment and will be your navigator within the GHS.
Within the GHS framework, referrals by PDs to OSs for beneficiaries with chronic diseases will include a larger number of visits than regular referrals (i.e. 12 visits instead of 3) and will be valid for a longer period (i.e. 12 months instead of 3). Also, a doctor will be able to issue repetitive prescriptions that will be valid for 6 months. During this period, beneficiaries will visit the pharmacy to fulfil their prescription without needing to revisit their doctor.
Thank you for contacting us, we remain at your disposal.
