No flattery at all.
They were outplayed by Italy in the first half. Played them at their own game - overcame the tackle only rule by getting the lumps to drive straight through the uncontested tackle and blitzed the 2nd half with a few more tries than the Italians scored.
No flattery at all.

That scoreline flattered England!
I don't agree at all. England played poorly in the first half like a disorganised rabble but Italy still weren't able to capitalise on that or the score difference would have been much greater. The second half was a different story entirely as if a different England team came out. Italy were also more inspired with 2 excellent tries, but at then end of the day the Italian defence was overcome and the scoreline fitting.
England cannot afford to play as badly as they did in the first half in their next match or Scotland will punish them. Kicking has got to be sorted out too.
Credit to the Italian's, they devised a different strategy which bamboozled us for most of the match! Won't happen again but we need to improve if we want to consider ourselves among the best in the world!
