Yes some of the starscapes had rather large nebulars on display. Did he use a special filter or something?

Fabulous the scene after the half moon setting with the circular blue at minute 5.33...

Dominic: more infos for you:

After months of work i have finally finished my first timelapse video
The video begins with a sunrise in Limassol, takes you through some very familiar places, the Troodos night sky and finished again with a sunrise over Nicosia.
You'll notice some imperfections like flickering and hot pixels maybe. This is partly my fault and a fault in one of my lenses. In the future i will try to avoid this.
The video is about 7,5 minutes long and it took almost 12000 images to make it. The editing was done in 4k resolution (3840x2160) at 30fps and this YouTube version is encoded at 35Mbps variable bit rate
Make sure you select the 4k option from below if you own a 4k TV or monitor or 1080p for everyone else. Watch in full screen, switch off the lights and turn up the volume.
Please share if you like it

Equipment used:

Canon eos 6d - Most used camera about 85% of the work
Canon eos 5d MKII
Canon eos 600d

Samyang 14mm f/2.8
Canon 17-40 f/4
Canon 50mm f/1.4
Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS MKII

Loved seeing the sunrise at Limassol and the old wooden pier - reminded me of the exhilaration I used to feel after my nightshifts in the office there, watching the sky go from black to violet before the sun came up, then driving home along the seafront in brilliant sunshine :-)

HIC

May be it is the light reflection from the warning lights on top of each windmill
whilst they are rotating...?

I'd love to watch this right now, but cannot find any way of switching OFF or lowering that bloody annoying background soundtrack volume, either on my TV or my PC! (Wifey is asleep in the adjacent bedroom...)

Will try again in the morning

Cheers- AL :)
