Andy Murray retirement

Post by smudger »

So sad, a great athlete. sportsman and representative for his country and nation forced to retire due to injury. Will be a great loss to the sport he has represented so admirably for so many years.

Thanks Andy for the huge contribution you have made to both Scotland and UK sport on the international stage. A giant amongst men.

His first major in New York was one of my best evenings of watching sport.... tremendous talent.... hard luck with injury....

Remember he played at Number 1 with probably the best ever 3 tennis players....

Yep, that's the hardest thing, he was born into the most competitive and talented era of men's tennis for many many years and fought like a tiger through every one of his years in top tennis. Saw his match today and was so disappointed for him. If this was his last match in top tennis, then I'm pretty sure it's not the way he would have wanted to go out. He really does want to play Wimbledon, prayers and wishes are with him for that, but think on the rest of your life Andy!!

Whatever he decides on I truly wish him all the luck and thank him for the entertainment he has treated us to for so many years. Such a cruel end though.

Yes at 31 no age really, but he says on Sky News this morning he needs a full hip replacement so any future match tennis will not be possible, he also says he wishes to play Wimbledon for the last time I sincerely hope he manages to at least try, been wonderful to watch his winning matches and his rise to the very top.

Well done Sir Andy.
Jim.
