In my ignorance many many years ago my two standard poodles used to have a Mars bar a day and lived to the ripe old age of 14. Now I’m aware of the dangers I shudder to think what could have happened
The amount of a Mars coating is small and contains little real chocolate (mostly sugar and milk). However, one square of dark chocolate could be dangerous to a Chihuahua or other toy dog, but it may take hours before symptoms appear.
We never fed our Labradors chocolate, though I did occasionally use dog choccy drops as a ‘treat’ when teaching them obedience training. However, one dog we had went to stay with friends while we were away over Christmas. We did warn them to be careful of leaving any food unattended, including chocolates on a low coffee table. Unfortunately, one night they left a box of chocolates on the coffee table overnight..
‘Sherrif’ must have woken early at dawn and though normally a very well behaved animal, he not only found but ate the chocs, plus most of the carboard box and wrapping in his hurry to demolish them! Fortunately, he waited for them to come down stairs to let him out. Whereupon he retired to the lawn and was violently ill. However, apparently in true Labrador fashion he had recoverd in time to eat his usual proper breakfast!

OMG do people actually give their pets chicken bones ! I thought everyone knew how dangerous they are, and that they can lead to an agonising death for their animals.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
