I was in Ely Cathedral yesterday, they were just completing the flowers and layout for the Memorial Service on Sunday. Placed irregularly throughout the seating were perspex soldiers (Not the standing ones with a rifle, they were standing at the back, but these looked like extensions to the seat back, making it look like a ghostly figure was sitting there, if you looked a bit harder you could make out the epaulettes and high uniform collar. The lighting, even on a bright day like yesterday, is very ghostly and as you walked through you could see these shimmering figures sitting there. I tried to get some pictures but the camera on my phone couldn't pick them up.

I'm absolutely blown away by the figures, statuettes, models.........that have been created for this emotional anniversary. Well done to all who were responsible and I truly wish I could have seen them all in place.
The coverage on BBC had been excellent I have to say.

Grateful thanks from a WW2 baby.
