It’s official: Cyprus Hunters Party established

Post by memory man »

The Cyprus Hunters Party has been officially registered and will hold its charter and election congress in November, its spokeswoman Toula Nathanail has told Phileleftheros.

She said that the party will have proposals on all domestic issues as well as the Cyprus issue, and will be fielding its own candidates at parliamentary elections.

But it will focus on issues of interest to hunters and the development of game.

A seminar is planned for October 26 with the participation of a Greek game expert on the future of game in Cyprus.

And in a Facebook post, the party issued a call to join its efforts.
“We again call on the friends of change, the friends of hunting, who are tired with the decline in the sport that we love, to join forces,” it said.

I think there are around forty thousand licensed Hunters, when General elections in Cyprus are sometimes decided by a few thousand votes, politicians will have to take them seriously.

That's assuming that all hunters will consider hunting their number 1 reason for voting.

I don't think it will be their main reason for voting, but it will give the Hunters party the power to go to politicians and threaten them, that if they back, anti hunting legislation , then they will give their votes to other people, as the amount of votes needed to win elections here in cyprus is low, then they could sway some politicians. I suppose it's more a lobbying party.
