My weather forecast is back online at http://weather.bnellis.eu/forecast/ (English) or http://weather.bnellis.eu/Greek/ (Καιρική πρόγνωση).
I apologise for the week without a reliable forecast. This was due to a Florida State University website, which normally provides a great deal of international weather data. Unfortunately, there was an erroneous software change, which appears now to be corrected. Note that this problem had nothing whatsoever to do with the recent terrible weather in Florida.
In order to provide a reliable forecast, the software which I use relies on data from seven different sources in various parts of the world. These are the same data that are used by, for example, the US National Weather Service and the UK meteorological office. Of course, my PC cannot compete with supercomputers but I am able to do the same by restricting the input data to a radius of up to 2000 km and, above all, calculating it for a radius of, say, 20 km from my own weather station data.
I am frequently asked how the limited radius of my weather forecasts can be extrapolated to other parts of Cyprus. This is explained in detail at http://weather.bnellis.eu/notes/forecas ... ation.html
Incidentally, I am installing a third weather station, hopefully online in two or three weeks. I am already using it for lightning detection for distances up to 50 km, in theory, 35 km in practice. My aim is to improve the accuracy of my measurements by eliminating all mechanics in rain measurement, wind speed and wind direction: solid-state meteorology! I am anxious to see how it compares with conventional instruments!

Morning Dev!
The point being is that looking out of your window is more reliable than the system you are using.
We live near agricultural land and the farmer there does not work in rain, not that it rains too often, his fields are like glue impossible to walk or work on, I used to help manufacture MF tractors, only doing this for 34 years
, that what he needs to cultivate his land. By the way, he is a REAL farmer.

Re: Weather forecast back
I too cannot see the point in a weather forecast for the Nicosia area on a Paphos Forum

Re: Weather forecast back
It may not be that useful to Paphos residents, unless they are planning a trip to Nicosia. However, it isn't harmful to them, either.

Re: Weather forecast back
Our garden is like that. If I use the rotovator to turn the soil, even without rain, my boots will have about 3 inches of mud stuck to the bottom in a matter of seconds.JimX wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 7:06 am Morning Dev!
