A frequent mini bus service in and around Paphos to all parts of the town would be a good idea and might even reduce the anount of traffic! It would be nice to be able to park ones car somewhere central and rely on the mini bus to get on and drop off when you reach your destination. I’m thinking of places which have a constant foot fall, like Immigration, citizens advice centres, law courts, Govt Buildings, and of course the Market area. Services that residents could use. After all residents by definition are here most of the year. Then of course the service that goes from Market to harbour, stopping off at different places en route. Rather similar to dare I say it, the ‘Dolmus’ service cheap and easy to access, which operates throughout Turkey. It is very well used.

I wish that Paphos woud make more use of mini buses. Because watching the too big buses trying to negotiate the very tight turns in the old town can be quite alarming. Also with the exception of the Paphos to Coral Bay service the other routes often seem to have half empty big buses serving them. Or perhaps certain times of the day are busier on some routes?

Please HIC don’t shoot me down in flames as it were, even though you prefer to drive yourself everywhere!

In Gloucestershire a mixture of small mainly towns, villages and large rural areas where I spend sometime, the bus services are amazing, buses of different sizes are used on different routes and criss cross the county. Far more people are willing to use them because they follow published timetables.
Why can’t Paphos get organised? There seem to be too many taxi drivers, could some of them get licenses to drive mini buses perhaps?

Agree Dee, I cringe sometime driving through Mesoghi to ISOP in the mornings, mainly on my return journey I admit and come face to face with a full size bus negotiating the very narrow roads taking the kids to school in Paphos!

Should just mention, have given up the more direct route from Tremithousa - along the Polis road, turn left at the basket roundabout and hit the virtually standstill traffic trying to get in and out of the school.
Then reverse the procedure to get out :o my nerves had had enough. Mesoghi route is a tad longer, but worth it to get in and out easily.

Please God, don't let all ISOP please start using the Mesoghi route!!!

Thanks HIC for taking a reasonable line. You arrive in Paphos from SV via motorway, but others of us have to navigate either the Polis Rd, or the roads from the Mall area up to the old town.. which can be very busy and choked by the traffic, much of which is cars...
