I now firmly believe that unless Boris is ....

Post by Jimgward »

Kicked out the Tory party, along with Rees-Mogg, that Brexit will be a complete disaster and their personal ambitions and selfishness will divide the country to the point where there will be violent scenes and the country will never recover. Scotland will reseek independence and it may well succeed. Northern Ireland will be the scene of impossible negotiations with a solution imposed by Westminster that will politically cause strife.

May is now looking as though she will not survive any deal. The Tory and labour parties may be ripped apart.

Sounds as though I am being far too negative? Sorry, but I have listened to debates on Boris’s latest statements and read what he had to say. No man has ever put his own ambitions before the country to this level. He was probably our worst ever foreign secretary and is no statesman.

It really takes the biscuit does it not when Phil Hogan says that Jacob Rees Mogg and co should shut up but he continues at length!! Can you not see the irony?
I actually rather like Jacob who appears to be a very intelligent and articulate chap. Note I say appears to be because I don't actually know the man, have never worked with him or even met him and I do so wish others would cease to be so scathing about individuals that they have never met. It is rather worrying that many appear to be so single minded that if media reports appear to support their own view then it must be right.

Why is it that I am accused of being selective as to which parts of posts that I respond to but both you and HIC do so all the time? Why also is it that you attribute words to me that I have not said?
Do I take it that you agree with the irony of Phil Hogans' comments?
What I actually said was that I wish others would cease to be so scathing about people they have not met which is rather different I believe to what you implied. I believe that one can form opinions based on various factors to provide a balanced view but to name call without actual knowledge is rather dangerous and really rather gullible. For example some on here would seem to believe everything that might be reported in the Guardian but deny everything that might be reported in the Express for example!!

For your information, I read the Daily Mail every day - ewvery bit as right-wing and tabloidesque as the Express. The Gaurdian I dont read, except online articles occasionally, but I’d put it leagues above those two....
You have said that “I do so wish others would cease to be so scathing about individuals that they have never met....”

I assumed you related that to me or me and HiC.... if it was related to Hogan, same thing.... I have never met Farage, Gove, Johnson or Res-Mogg. My opinions aren’t formed by single articles or any media outlet. I balance opinions from a variety of sources and also comments from their colleagues, who have lambasted Johnson and Rees-Mogg more than Hogan did. (Hogan may have met them anyway....)

I can tell you now, both these self-serving politicians should be declared “enemies of the state” as they have done more to scupper any form of Brexit than anyone else. Both stand to gain financiallly from turmoil. Rees-Mogg even advised investors in his fund to not invest in the UK!

I totally agree with you Jim and you could add Liam Fox to the list; a chancer who should have gone to prison.
It appears the Home Secretary (a Brexiteer) is now raising the possibility of Martial Law in case of rioting in the streets which I'm sure not many Brexiteers voted for.
The most disturbing article I've read in the last few days was in the case of a "No Deal" there would be a shortage of synthetic insulin as it's not manufactured in the UK. The only insulin manufactured in the UK is animal based insulin which is only 2% of the UK requirement.
Now all Our Brexiteer friends can leap up and down and even have a yawn if they like and scream PROJECT FEAR but this info came from .HM Goverment. Fortunately no one in our family suffers from Diabetes 1 but there are many, many people out there who have children, parents, spouses and relations who do and are worried sick that there will be shortage of life saving drugs after Brexit.
Don't say everything will be fine because we don't know but I do know I wouldn't be prepared to gamble with one of my family's lives; not even for a blue passport.
