The article says that for decades Paphos has enjoyed a good reputation among visitors, free of brawls and public disturbance..
They obviously never ventured down Bar Street a decade ago

Friday and Saturday nights used to see a male and female uniformed pair of British Military Police patrolling Bar St, making sure that the squaddies on weekend leave from Episkopi were behaving themselves..

But that was then, Now a days Bar Street has changed a lot, no longer the main centre of nightlife with all the bars.So pehaps drunken tourists are in more public locations. near the harbour or along TOTK Rd areas?
